WWTK - Week 56

null

{1} Please describe your blog. Does it fall into one category or many? How has it changed from post one? - My blogs have always been kinda "about my life" sort of things. Now it's more...blog carnival answer things. Since coming back from hiatus, I've had a hard time deciding what to write about.
{2} What 3 things do you LOVE about blogging? - I just love expressing myself. I love having something I can go back and look on. And I really love being able to keep up with friends as well as find new and interesting people around the world.
{3} What 3 things do you DISLIKE about blogging? - I dislike stalkers. I dislike that I have to censor myself because of people like my ex-husband. And I dislike some of the drama that can come about (though I do follow a few trainwreck bloggers myself).
{4} What 3 things do you WISH OTHER BLOGGERS would do? Any tips for them? - I don't really have any tips or wishes concerning other bloggers. I typically browse and find blogs I like and if there's something in particular about a blogger that I don't enjoy, I just don't follow along. Sometimes it's just a feeling, sometimes I just can't relate to them, sometimes it's opposing beliefs, and sometimes there's just nothing there that's entertaining.
{5} I know we all have lots of blogs we read, but what are 3 blogs your never miss? - My friend Erin, Mimi, and Mamarazzi...but there are a lot more I follow, too.

WWTK - Week 52

Photobucket
Hosted by Mamarazzi, Queso and Crazymama

Wow...so I haven't blogged at all since my last WWTK. Things have been SUPER busy around here. Craziness. Hopefully I'll have some more time to sit down and blog later this week. But here are my IF answers for WWTK this week:

{one} If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose? - Hm. I think I will go with Criminal Minds. I would want to be a profiler. In another life (where I was single and without kids and could move to Quantico) the FBI is what I would have chosen for my career path. That's what I wanted to be back when I was in 6th grade. So yeah...working in the BAU on Criminal Minds. Or maybe a love interest for Rossi. ;)
{two} If you could be guaranteed one thing in life besides money, what would you ask for? - Oh that's easy: happiness for my children.
{three} If you had to name the most terrifying event in your life thus far, what would it be? - Another easy one: when my 3 week old baby aspirated and stopped breathing...she was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and in the ICU. I hope I never again have to face something that scary in my life. It's unbearable.
{four} If you could possess one supernatural ability, what would it be? - Ooh another easy one: invisibility! I'm nosy so I would love to be the ultimate fly on the wall. ;)
{five} If you could "uninvent" one thing in the world , so that it would no longer exist, what would you choose? - Hmm. Stupid stereo systems in cars that are way too loud. That's a pet peeve I have. I shouldn't be able to hear the car down the block from inside my apartment. UGH.

FUN questions!

WWTK - Week 51

Photobucket
Hosted by Mamarazzi, Queso and Crazymama

{1} What is your favorite Easter tradition? - Making sugar eggs! It's something that my grandma did with my generation when we were younger and now my mom does it with my kids. Here are two of my favorite pictures of my girls with their eggs (in 2007):

{2} Tell us about your Easter meal. - We have Easter at my grandparents' house every year and I'm not in charge of the menu at all whatsoever. I think we usually have ham, though. Oh and I think brisket (which I really like...since I don't like ham).
{3} Do you decorate for Easter? - We tend to make Easter decorations more than we actually decorate for Easter. So whatever the girls' craft projects happen to be...that's usually the only stuff we have out.
{4} Your Easter basket is not complete without.... - I honestly don't know. I kinda just "go with it" and see what I can find that the girls will like. There usually isn't a whole lot of candy...but I tend to get them one chocolate something. I'm not a big chocolate fan...but they like it. ;)
{5} Are you getting an Easter dress? - For me? Goodness, no. I haven't really gotten Easter dresses for my kids in a year or two. I haven't figured out what they're going to wear yet...I should probably do that!

WWTK - Week 49

Photobucket
Hosted by Mamarazzi, Queso and Crazymama

{1} How many phones do you have in your household? (cell, smart, land lines) - I have my cell phone (smartphone) and that's the only working phone we have. We have some old cell phones running around that the girls like to play with.
{2} Are you brand loyal? (Apple or Android or something else?) I'm not as much brand loyal as I am ANTI-Apple.
{3} Would you rather talk on the phone, text or email? - Text, definitely. I'm not big on talking on the phone.
{4} What do you think of Video chat? what do you use? (skype, facetime? google talk?) - I've never actually done it. Too much like talking on the phone...but in person. :P
Fulfilled Mommy wants to know:
{5}What is your favorite gadget? (Tablet, cell phone, etc.)
- I really, really love my new phone (HTC Rezound).
{6} If you had to pick just one technological gadget, (computer, cell phone, smart phone, tablet)and it was the only one you could use for a year, which would you pick? explain why. - Hmm. Well...I really, really love my new phone...but I think I'm going to have to go with my laptop. I use it more.

WWTK #48

Photobucket
Hosted by Mamarazzi, Queso and Crazymama

{1}Ricki Jill wants to know:
I would like to know what the WWTK's participants serve when they have company for dinner. What are your go-to recipes?
- Everyone seems to like/request my Sour Cream Enchiladas. One of these days I'll get around to taking pictures and posting the recipe.

{2}Jill wants to know:
If you were told it was time for your last meal, what would you order up or make for yourself?
- I would want my mom's (and only my mom's!!) meatballs and cheesy potatoes. Mmm! She's making it for me (well our family...but I'm probably the most excited) during spring break next week. Yay! :)

{3}Suzanne wants to know:
Sugar or alcohol? or more delicately Drink or Dessert?
- That's easy...DESSERT! I'm not a big alcohol drinker though. I have a screwdriver or something maybe once or twice a year. I'm usually the DD. I like it when the people I'm driving for buy me dinner before we go out. ;)

{4}Myya wants to know:
What is your favorite Crock Pot Recipe?
- Probably Mexican Cheese Soup is my favorite recipe for ME to make in the crockpot. But my mom makes her meatballs in the crockpot...so it's definitely my favorite when SHE is cooking in the crockpot. ;)

{5} Mamarazzi is having a hard time getting breakfast in everyday so she wants to know:
What are you eating for breakfast these days?
- I'm a bad person to ask. The last week, I've been eating girl scout cookies and a glass of milk for breakfast. ;) lol. My favorite breakfast food, though, is french toast followed closely by pancakes. My kids and I also like plain bagels with strawberry cream cheese frosting. :)

WWTK - Week 47

{1} What is your favorite way to celebrate birthdays? - I love to go out to dinner. Simple...but I like it. :)
{2} Which is more fun to celebrate? Celebrating yours or your loved ones? - Oh always celebrating other birthdays. I love to spoil my loved ones. :) And I'm not really a "center of attention" kind of person. Take me to dinner, tell me happy birthday...nothing else. My mom and I feel the same way about our birthdays. But now my kids...I absolutely LOVE preparing their parties and doing special things for their birthdays. My mom was the same way with us. And for the girls' first three birthdays, she makes their birthday dresses (just like she did with me and my sister). And because I LOVE their birthdays...here are some pictures (and we're big on themes!):
Aubry's 1st Birthday - Sesame Street

...and her birthday dress:

Aubry's 2nd Birthday - Finding Nemo

...and her birthday dress:

Aubry's 3rd Birthday - Carebears

...and the famous 3rd bday dress my mom has made for me, my sister, both my girls, and will make for both my nieces (same pattern, different colors)

Ashlyn's 1st Birthday - Unicorns

...and her dress:

Aubry's 4th Birthday - Dora
...she wore one of my old dresses that my mom made

Ashlyn's 2nd birthday - Strawberry Shortcake
...didn't get good pictures of the decor but she had a cute dress and outfit:

Aubry's 5th Birthday - Happy Feet

Ashlyn's 3rd birthday - My Little Pony

...and the dress my mom made:

Aubry's 6th birthday we had a party at the zoo with some friends.
Ashlyn's 4th Birthday - Blue's Clues
...the first year I actually made the cakes.

Aubry's 7th birthday we planned a luau but it rained. :-/ So we had cake and food at two of my grandparents' houses.
Ashlyn's 5th birthday - Disney Princess
...she wore one of my old dresses

Aubry's 8th birthday at Chuck-E-Cheese

Ashlyn's 6th birthday we went to my grandparents' house then went to a fall festival and Old Cowtown Museum with my parents.
Aubry's 9th birthday we went to Great Wolf Lodge and plan to go back for Ashlyn's 9th. They got their first pedicures and free ice cream.

And Ashlyn's 7th birthday was a cupcake theme at Paint the Towne

{3} What is your dessert of choice for birthday celebrating? - I really, really love the strawberry chantilly cake that we get from a local bakery here. Okay...so if someone wants to get me one of those cakes for my birthday, I'm okay with that, too. ;)
{4} Tell us about your best birthday you've ever had. - I've really had a lot of amazing birthdays. When I was a kid...my mom went all out and it really made our birthdays special. How about some more pictures?!
Smurfette!

Carebear 3rd Birthday - Same dress pattern as my kids!

And probably my favorite...Rainbow Brite for my 4th Birthday!

I mean...seriously. Look at this! My mom drew these! And that dress is the same one Aubry wore for her 4th birthday...

{5} Share your favorite birthday song - Hm...can't really think of a birthday song that I like.
{6} Bonus Question: if you could pick any age to be again, how old would you be and why? I would only want to go backward if I could approach life with the knowledge I have now. And...I'd actually probably go back to my 9th birthday. I wouldn't have quit dance, wouldn't have paid so much attention to boys as I got older, and I would have focused more on homework (instead of boys!) and gone away somewhere to college right after high school. But...my life is pretty good as it is so I can't complain. ;)

WWTK - Week 45!

Photobucket
Hosted by Mamarazzi, Queso and Crazymama

PAMPERING!

{1} What is your go to color if you paint your nails? do your toes and fingernails match? I used to paint my nails all the time when I was in high school and I loved painting them silver. I honestly don't remember the last time I painted my nails...and definitely don't remember the color. But I painted my girls' nails a bright pinkish color not too long ago. :) And I rarely ever paint my toenails...I'm just not crazy about feet. :P

{2} Have you ever gone for a mani/pedi? how often do you go? I only get a mani for special occasions like mine and my sister's weddings and prom back in high school. I have gotten a pedi twice in my life...my sister's wedding and an outing with my friend about a year after that. Hm. I'm kinda low-maintenance.

{3} Do you color your hair? do you have a salon do it or do you do it yourself? I've never done it myself but I've gotten it colored at the salon. The first time I ever colored my hair at all was back in 2006 and the stylist wanted to add blonde highlights because she'd never met someone who had never colored their hair before and she offered me a huge discount to let her do it. LOL. The last 3 years or so, I've gotten it colored about twice a year: darker in the winter (usually an auburn-ish color) and then add blonde in the summer. I really love the darker color but my mom and grandparents always tell me how much they miss my blonde. I used to be really light blonde as a kid but it's gotten darker as I've gotten older anyway...and I think I look better with darker hair.

{4} Facials...have you ever had one? Nope...never had one.

{5} Would you or have you ever done botox? I haven't and probably wouldn't. I'm just a really low-maintenance kind of chick...and by low-maintenance I mostly mean "lazy." ;)

{6} Beauty knows no pain, do you believe in waxing, electrolisis, eyelash extentions, anti-aging creams, micro-dermabrasion, peels, botox? I'm just too lazy to do much of anything with myself. Coloring my hair was like HUGE for me. I don't even get my haircut but maybe once a year. Now, boob job...that I could get on board with. ;)

WWTK - Week 43

A new bloggy meme! I wish I would've found this sooner! I don't know what my fascination is with answering personal questions but...for some reason I just like it a lot. One of my favorite things back in the days of myspace was filling out surveys. I'm weird...I know this. ;)

{1} What is for dinner tonight (bonus for sharing the recipe)? - I have no idea yet. The girls go to their dad's house tonight...and it's cold and dreary out so I may just stay home. Dinner will be whatever I find when I get hungry that is quick and easy. :P

{2} Share something you are currently looking forward to. - My second niece will be born this month!

{3} What are your thoughts on re-gifting? - I think if something is in like new quality and you're not giving it back to the person who gave it to you...no big deal. It's kinda like paying it forward. And it's a lot better than just keeping something for the sake of keeping it but never using it. However, if it's something that is clearly used then I probably wouldn't. One example that comes to mind was a woman who gave a whole bunch of used baby clothes at a baby shower...wouldn't have been as bad if they weren't all boy clothes for a baby girl. :P

{4} How often do you rearrange your furniture? - Not very often. I've been in my apartment for over a year now but I really haven't rearranged much. But lately I've been on a rearranging kick! I'm trying to get my apartment all organized. I started with the girls' closets...I moved all their clothes into a closet I created in my laundry room. Now I'm working on rearranging the bedrooms. I would rearrange my living room but I have a big sectional sofa and entertainment center and they're kind of in the only spot they will fit in. ;)

{5} Share a picture from your cellphone or camera. - Pretty boring...but here is the last picture I took with my phone...more progress on the girls' new closet!
